Investment Strategy
Murex invests in strong companies that share upside with employees. Murex invests equity or subordinated
debt up to $1,000,000 as a sole investor, or up to $5,000,000 along with co-investment partners. Criteria
include:
- early-, expansion- or succession-stage companies;
- $1,000,000 to $20,000,000 in revenue;
- break-even or positive EBITDA;
- a minimum of 10 employees;
- located in, or willing to relocate to, the Murex target geography;
- manufacturing, technology and service industries;
- strong management team;
- defensible marketing niche; and
- potential for growth in revenue and employees.
Investments must also be relevant to the Murex vision, values and mission.
Murex Group of Investment Funds
- Murex Investments I, L.P. is the region’s only SBA-licensed New Markets Venture Capital
Company. This fund invests in aggressively-growing small businesses with defined exit strategies.
While criteria are broad, this fund is currently interested in later-stage companies in traditional
industries.
- Murex Investments II, L.P. shares strategy with Murex Investments I, L.P., but has a particular
focus on the State of Delaware.
- Murex Investments III, L.P., currently in formation, will provide equity and mezzanine
financing for middle-market industrial, distribution, business service and healthcare companies
offering attractive prospects for growth and job creation/retention.
- Murex Patient Capital Fund provides mezzanine financing for strong companies that increase
employment and wealth, targeting companies at the small end of the middle market.
